DUAL 1226 turntable in the original white plinth, made in the early 70's. Unique design combined with great sound quality. Complete with original DUAL CL138 loudspeakers, in white cabinets. It has the original dust cover. All functions work properly.
Dual 1226 turntable - with a traditional idler drive, produced in the last century, around 1973/74. This is the version with the original white housing. It offers a great, balanced sound combined with the classic design of those years. The turntable is in very good condition overall.
You can mount a record changer spindle in it - this allows you to automatically listen to several records (max. 6), one after the other (the spindle is included with the turntable).
On request, we can prepare a turntable for use in the USA free of charge (replacement of the motor pulley and change of electrical connections and adaptation of the motor to 110 - 125 V, 60 Hz).
The turntable is in good working order, all functions work properly. The Dual 1226 is fully automatic: it is activated by one lever, after the end of playback the arm will automatically return to the starting position. You can also initiate a manual start.
The equipment is after a full review and renovation - the old grease has been removed, the mechanism has been washed and re-lubricated. The engine is after a complete technical inspection and lubrication - it maintains its rotation properly. The "Pitch" control (fine motor speed control) works properly, the lift of the arm works with the right resistance.
The whole thing works properly and offers a full, clear sound. An original, used Audio Technica AT12E cartridge with a used elliptical stylus is mounted (the stylus is in very good condition). The headshell accepts any cartridge with a 1/2 inch mount, from 2 to 10 g (0.004 to 0.022 lb) - including mounts.
Data about the cartridge and the needle are provided on the basis of electrical and microscopic measurements.
Upgrades:
- the anti-interference capacitor in the power supply path has been replaced with a new one
Technical and visual condition:
The turntable shows normal signs of use. The case has a few minor scuffs and scratches; the turntable chassis, from the top, on the left side, has a small abrasion - visible in the photo.
The turntable is offered with an original anti-dust cover - the cover is without damages and cracks, it has minor scratches - visible in the photo. It wasn't polished.
The loudspeakers have been technically inspected and work flawlessly. The electrical measurements of the loudspeaker crossovers were checked and performed - all parameters in the norm. All speakers working; their rubber suspensions are in perfect condition.
Cases show normal signs of use, have minor scratches and abrasions. One of the columns on the back surface has small veneer losses and corner damage. The front grilles are in very nice condition, without damage. The connecting wires are approx. 4 m (13.12 ft) long.
INFO: the original veneer on the turntable and speakers is no longer perfectly white, but it is in a nice condition for its age; with the above-mentioned traces of use. The whole has been cleaned and refreshed with appropriate preparations.
